art
My creative practice is a dialogue between heritage, abstraction, and form. Operating under the name Irme Mamsirati, a name I hold to honor my Ossetian roots, my work explores the intersection of cultural memory and contemporary visual language.
My approach to art is deeply informed by my time in Russia, where I engaged with the traditions of the avant-garde movement.
My paintings explore the theme of "Woman", delving into the complexities of existence, societal perceptions, and internal self-perception. I often work with a disciplined palette: primary colors—red, yellow, and blue—form the ground, while white and black contours define the figures. This reductionist approach allows the narrative to emerge organically from the canvas.
Beyond the canvas, my background in ceramics informs my sense of volume and texture. My work has been exhibited internationally across the UK, Germany, Turkey, Greece, and Russia, and is held in private collections spanning the globe from the US to Malaysia. In 2021, my piece 'Labels' was featured at the Superchief NFT Gallery in New York during the inaugural NFT Biennial, marking my ongoing exploration into digital expressions.
My design philosophy is rooted in the belief that style should be both timeless and responsible. Founded in 2004, my fashion label, Mamsirati Irmæ, was built on a commitment to retro aesthetics and sustainable craftsmanship, utilizing organic, recycled, and biodegradable materials. For a decade, these one-of-a-kind pieces served as a study in classic silhouettes and ethical production.
Beyond my personal practice, I have long been committed to the ecosystem of art. Through curatorial projects like the art'ALAN Exhibitions (2017–2018), I have focused on creating spaces that bring international voices together, bridging cultures through curated visual experiences.
exhibitions
My artistic journey gained an international dimension with my debut in the London art scene in 2017. Since then, my practice has evolved through a series of solo and group exhibitions that engage with diverse audiences across the globe.
My work seeks to bridge the gap between complex conceptual themes and visual accessibility. Whether through collaborative projects or independent explorations, each exhibition serves as a dialogue—an invitation to view the world through a different lens.
From my foundational work in the UK to subsequent showcases across Europe, Russia, and beyond, these exhibitions represent the continuous evolution of my visual language and my commitment to exploring the human condition.
